Win my Dunny ‘Finkle’ and Limited Edition Prints

Wednesday, April 21st, 2010

At the end of May I will be launching my own online store selling originals, prints, vinyl customs and much more as time moves on. To celebrate the upcoming store I’m running a competition from now until the store is launched to win my custom Dunny ‘Finkle’ (pictured right, click on him to see other views from my Flickr site) or one of two limited edition prints. Prizes are as follows:

1st Prize – Custom Dunny ‘Finkle’
2nd & 3rd Prizes – One limited edition print of your choice from those available in my store at launch

All you have to do to be in with a chance of winning is join my mailing list, which you can do from the right hand column opposite.

The draw will happen on the day I launch the store, so around the end of May 2010, and I’ll be picking the winners at random from everybody who is on the mailing list at that time. So you just need to be on the mailing list on the launch day in order to be in with a chance of winning one of the prizes!

I’ll pay the shipping to whoever wins and I’ll announce the winner on the blog and email them for their postal address. Obviously I can’t be responsible for any import charges the winner’s country may apply, should there be any – you would be responsible for those.

I’ll be using the mailing list once the store is launched to announce new products, special offers and news. So, to be in with a chance to win Finkle or your choice of a limited edition print and keep up to date on my store, please do join my mailing list. And if there’s anything in particular you’d like to see in my store, do please let me know.

The boring rules stuff is below :)

Competition Rules

1. You must be subscribed to my mailing list when the draw happens in order to win.
2. Competition closes when the store launches – people who join after this time will not be included in the draw. A blog post will be made to mark this and the time it is posted used as the cut-off.
3. Only one entry per person.
4. I will pay shipping but will not be responsible for any customs import charges your country may impose.
5. If you win you will be emailed asking for your postal address. If no response is received in 7 days a new winner for the prize will be drawn and you will no longer be eligible for the prize.
6. This competition is available worldwide.

Custom Munny – Alfredo

Saturday, April 3rd, 2010

I finished a new custom 8″ Munny yesterday, and he’s called Alfredo. Click the picture on the right to see other, larger views. He’s been painted with acrylics and sealed with acrylic spray. Alfredo is already on display in a relatively new local gallery that wants to carry some of my work, called the Cornerhouse. He’s also for sale, so please contact the gallery for more information.

I’m now starting work on some Dunnys so expect new pieces from me soon.

Sketchbot Custom Reveal, New York & MyPlasticHeart

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

So on Friday 26th March, the Sketchbot custom show launched at myplasticheart in New York. My custom, called ‘Monument’, was one of 50 artist pieces on show and here are some photos of my piece.

There are more photos of it in my Flickr set and also a second Flickr set of photos and notes of the process I used to create the piece.

I flew out to New York with my wife and kids on the Thursday to coincide with the launch night and we spent 5 fantastic days in New York on a short break, getting back earlier today. It’s the first time I’ve been to New York and I fell in love with the place. At the friday launch night event at myplasticheart for the Sketchbot show I got to meet so many artists that I admire, such as Steve Talkowski (the Sketchbot creator), Lou Pimental, Eric from Argonaut Resins and so many others.

If you’re interested, my piece is available for purchase from the myplasticheart web site.

Sketchbot Custom Teaser

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010

I pretty much finished my Sketchbot custom last night, apart from some varnishing which will happen later in the week once the paint has fully dried. I showed some pictures of it to Steve Talkowski, who is Sketchbot’s creator and invited me to participate in the show, and he encouraged me to post a teaser image ahead of the show so here it is.

What you’re seeing a little over 2cm tall :) And that’s all you’re getting before the show opens on 26th March at myplasticheart in New York.

Sketchbot Custom Show in NYC with a Custom by Me

Monday, March 1st, 2010

Steve Talkowski has finally lifted the lid off the Sketchbot custom show that will be taking place at myplasticheart in New York, opening on March 26th. Which means that I can also lift the lid on my involvement as there will be a custom Sketchbot by myself on show. I’ve included the promo card images below, click on them for bigger versions.

It’s going to be a big show of customs, with 50 different artists involved. Click the image below to see just who’s doing a custom Sketchbot.

I just hope my custom makes it across the pond in one piece once it’s finished…

Art From the Past Week

Monday, November 23rd, 2009

Sorry there was no post last week but I was busy finishing the final canvas piece for a small exhibition in a local cafe and it took longer than expected. That’s now finished (see the first thumbnail below) and over the last weekend I also got the time to do my custom paint job on a Tessetoys Oakor resin toy, which came out really well. As usual, click on the thumbnails below to see larger versions.

I should be installing my paintings in the cafe later this week. I’ll make sure I take lots of photos to share on my blog once they’re up.
